Every end has a new beginning

We often find ourselves more focused on getting through the journey and wanting it to end instead of grabbing what we need from it and asking what it is preparing us for.

As challenging as some lessons may be they often equip or prepare us for greater victories. I remember there was a time where I could not understand why my family had to go through so much, why I could not just be a normal child with normal circumstances but I later realized that my journey was not only one I needed to endure for myself but for others too. To share my story and let the world know that where you come from does not have to determine where you will end up. As cliche as it sounds, the life you choose to create is solely dependent on your choices and how you choose to respond to your circumstances.

Embrace your journey, regardless of how challenging it is. Allow it to groom you and teach you what you need to learn. But more importantly make room for what comes next, the blooming, the new.

Below are 5 ways to help you prepare for your new beginning:

1. Be selfish with your time- choose wisely what you invest your time on, don't spend too much time paying attention to things which will disturb your peace or hinder your growth.

2. Don't focus on the bigger picture, embrace the now- the uncertainty of how things will happen or what will happen next can be quite daunting but worrying about that would not benefit you in any way. Instead enjoy your current moment and where you are at now.

3. Be open to trying new things-if you were not one to read often or take some time out of your day to work out, now might be the time. Whether you choose to read a motivational book or go for a jog, do so. Participating in both will not only help you remain optimistic but it will also help you feel better and reduce anxiousness.

4. Put the old behind- remind yourself that what has happened is in the past and what is yet to come is your future. You are not who you were then, you are wiser and you have grown. Remember that failures is a sign of what not to do next time and that it is a second chance to do something over and be better.

5. Understand you- know your short comings, abilities and weakness. Know what sets you off so that you can identify it and prevent it from changing your perspective and hinder you from stepping into the new.

Embrace the new and welcome change.
