How does letting go benefit you?

Updated: May 11, 2020

I decided to do a follow up of yesterdays blog. To illustrate the advantages and importance of releasing the past and letting go of situations which no longer helps us grow. Below I have listed 5 benefits of letting go:

1. Boost in confidence: when we let go of the things we often hide behind, then only will we see our true worth. Once we strip down the lies we have been feeding ourselves such as “I am not enough” or “i’m not cut out for this” and we have released the fears that has been holding us back. We then step out as more confident and certain of ourselves. We no longer question our abilities and become the best!

2. Become healthier-mentally, emotionally and physically: holding onto hurt, fear or unhealthy relationships often leads to anxiety, stress and mental breakdowns. However, letting go of these things will reduce breakouts as a result of stress, as well as body aches. We will become less prone to anxiety attacks and migraines. There will be a shift in our thinking, our thoughts will be more positive and our outlook on life more optimistic too. Overall, our mental health and well-being will improve.

3. Enjoy life, while putting yourself first: Once we acknowledge that holding onto the past and things that hurt us, withholds us. We will then develop a deeper sense of self. We will realize the importance of being fragile with ourselves and prioritizing our needs. As a result we will love ourselves without conditions, welcome growth and embrace peace.

4. Peace will be your new state of mind: by releasing ourselves from the expectations of others and the stress of troubling situations;we are able to think clearly without feeling overwhelmed.

5. You’ll be able to just be: part of letting go is acknowledging that there are situations or events which arise that are out of our control. There is nothing that we can do to stop or avoid it. Therefore, instead of trying to control or “figure it out” like we always do, we allow God to tend to it, trusting that he will work things out for our good.
